We just received a phone call from Timothy Drew, that the husband of Rev. Carol Drew, Allen G. Drew passed away this past Saturday, the funeral service will be held  at  Densmore Church on Wellsley Island, Alexandria Bay, New York State, August 5, 2019 at 11:00 am. Refreshments served afterwards. *****************************************************

Season of Prayer and reflection in the Korean Peninsula begins June 25- august 15, 2019.  Please keep them in your prayers.


Watertown Stone Presbyterian Church is looking for a financial secretary ( paid part-time position). If interested or know of someone who is contact  Pastor Libby Moses at 315-788-5630.


August 4th, Watertown Stone Church will have their Worship Service in the Prayer Garden next to the Church August 4th, will be hosting a picnic after the worship service. Bring a dish/dessert to share. All are invited to attend.


 A Rest and Renewal Retreat for church leaders( lay and ordained, however defined) is set for Friday September 6th and Saturday 7th at two neighboring houses on Trout Lake ( near Edwards, NY,visit and

Food will be provided, and a short program, but mostly this will be an opportunity to rest, renew, and connect with colleagues in ministry. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sailing, napping and yes, S’mores. Sleeping space for 12 is available, and we need a minimum participation of 6 to hold the event. If you would like to attend, or have questions, please contact Rev. Mike Catanzaro ( pastor at Canton First) at There will be no, or very little cost ( thanks to support from the Presbytery). The hard deadline for registration is Tuesday August 6th.

Vacation Bible School at Peru Community Church “ Son Spark Labs” July 29- August 2, 2019  at 9:00 am to Noon ages 3 years to 6th Grade.


Rev. Betsy Westman is filling in at the Hammond Presbyterian Church for the summer. She is from the Theresa  Presbyterian Church.


In the Presbyterians Today magazine, Rev. Melodie Long  in Oshkosh, Wisconsin has an article and photo about holding its first Grillin’ on the Green and it runs from June to August and welcomes 40 to 100 people. ”There is a theological underpinning to grilling brats: our desire to be connected to one another.”  Rev. Melodie was our minister from Sackets Harbor a short time ago.   Nice article about Summer time ministry!  Sounds like an idea for the North Country in summertime.


August 1-3, 2019 Sixth Big Tent will run in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The theme-based on Romans 12:2, Called to a Movement beyond institution, will emphasize our hope of the gospel and its power to challenge institutional conventions. It will be based at 2 downtown hotels, the Radisson and Lord –Baltimore, the event will be accessible and affordable- making it possible for more Presbyterians to come together for a time of learning, engaging and fellowship. Further details will be posted on the Big Tent Website at when finalized.

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary hosting Thursday August 22, 2019 at 8:45 am EDT to Friday August 23, 2019 5:00 pm EDT Couples Therapy Training.

This training is for mental health providers, allied professionals and clergy, students and interns, family clinic staff, professors/teachers of couples therapy, researchers in the social sciences, and employee assistance professionals.

Outdoor Worship Service and church Picnic August 4th Watertown Stone PC at 10:00 am

Worship will be held out in the prayer garden next to the church. Come dressed casually. The Nuture committee will be hosting a picnic to follow the worship service.  Bring a side dish/dessert to share.

The office of General Assembly invites you to celebrate the faithful ministry and 40th ordiversary of Rev. Dr. Thomas D. Hay, Associate Stated Clerk, who will retire from his service to the General Assembly as the Director of Assembly Operations. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky. RSVP by August 23, 2019.

M.E.L.T. will not allow the acts of a few to stop our good work for 20 schools, over 40 teachers and circulation of 40,000 books annually.
