We just received a phone call from Timothy Drew, that the husband of Rev. Carol Drew, Allen G. Drew passed away this past Saturday, the funeral service will be held  at  Densmore Church on Wellsley Island, Alexandria Bay, New York State, August 5, 2019 at 11:00 am. Refreshments served afterwards. *****************************************************

Season of Prayer and reflection in the Korean Peninsula begins June 25- august 15, 2019.  Please keep them in your prayers.

August 4th, Watertown Stone Church will have their Worship Service in the Prayer Garden next to the Church August 4th, will be hosting a picnic after the worship service. Bring a dish/dessert to share. All are invited to attend.

 A Rest and Renewal Retreat for church leaders( lay and ordained, however defined) is set for Friday September 6th and Saturday 7th at two neighboring houses on Trout Lake ( near Edwards, NY,visit https://www.vrbo.com/394813 and https://www.homeaway.com/vaction-rental/p180968).

Food will be provided, and a short program, but mostly this will be an opportunity to rest, renew, and connect with colleagues in ministry. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sailing, napping and yes, S’mores. Sleeping space for 12 is available, and we need a minimum participation of 6 to hold the event. If you would like to attend, or have questions, please contact Rev. Mike Catanzaro ( pastor at Canton First) at RevMike@churchOnthePark.org. There will be no, or very little cost ( thanks to support from the Presbytery). The hard deadline for registration is Tuesday August 6th.

In the Presbyterians Today magazine, Rev. Melodie Long  in Oshkosh, Wisconsin has an article and photo about holding its first Grillin’ on the Green and it runs from June to August and welcomes 40 to 100 people. ”There is a theological underpinning to grilling brats: our desire to be connected to one another.”  Rev. Melodie was our minister from Sackets Harbor a short time ago.   Nice article about Summer time ministry!  Sounds like an idea for the North Country in summertime.

August 1-3, 2019 Sixth Big Tent will run in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The theme-based on Romans 12:2, Called to a Movement beyond institution, will emphasize our hope of the gospel and its power to challenge institutional conventions. It will be based at 2 downtown hotels, the Radisson and Lord –Baltimore, the event will be accessible and affordable- making it possible for more Presbyterians to come together for a time of learning, engaging and fellowship. Further details will be posted on the Big Tent Website at pcusa.org/bigtent when finalized.
